Welcome to Stage Eight of your Dissolution: Divorce & Carrying Out the Judgment
Divorces are finalized when the Court either (1) approves your Settlement Agreement, or (2) issues an Order following a Trial. In either case, you will be formally divorced and officially unmarried.
But there’s still an important phase left – taking the important post-divorce steps, including the ones the Court ordered.
In this phase, it’s time to take those steps. For example, the Court’s Order may require listing or refinancing a home, or a QDRO to divide retirement assists. You’ll also want to hire counsel to review and update your estate planning documents.
