Meghan Freed in Connecticut Bar Foundation Fellows Roundtable on Social Media for Lawyers

  •   |   Meghan Freed

On April 7, 2015, Meghan Freed was a discussion leader at the Connecticut Bar Foundation Fellows‘ roundtable discussion “Networking and Marketing in the Digital Age: How to Leverage Social Media to Expand Your Network and Develop Your Brand” co-hosted by University of Connecticut Law School Dean Timothy Fisher and Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP Attorney Barry F. Armata.

In addition to Meghan, the discussion was lead by Attorney Kimberly Knox of Horton, Shields & Knox, P.C., Attorney Daniel Schwartz of Shipman & Goodwin, LLP, and Jeanne Leblanc, UConn Law’s Director of Communications.

Covered topics covered included: authenticity in social media, ethical concerns, social media strategies, varying social media platforms and their strengths and weaknesses, whether social media is here to stay, and why personal connections remain paramount.

As an aside, Dan and Meghan decided that it is  acceptable social media etiquette for @danielschwartz and @meghanfreed to tweet at each other during a presentation when that presentation is about social media.
