Because the Windham Judicial District Court is located in Putnam, CT, divorce attorneys often refer to it interchangeably as the “Windham Family Court” and the “Putnam Family Court.”
You can file divorce and family law cases in either the Connecticut family court that covers the town or city where you live, or the city or town where your spouse or partner lives. Many Connecticut towns also have a choice of divorce court, but this is not the case with the towns the Putnam Family Court covers.
