There is a private parking garage in the building immediately adjacent to the Courthouse, on the corner of Church and Grove Streets. Another nearby garage is the Grove Street Garage, located at 65 Grove Street.
Divorce attorneys refer to the New Haven District Court as the “New Haven Family Court.”
You can file divorce and family law cases in either the Connecticut family court that covers the town or city where you live, or the city or town where your spouse or partner lives. Many Connecticut towns also have a choice of divorce court.
People living in Branford, Cheshire, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Meriden, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, and Wallingford can elect to file at either the New Haven or Meriden courthouses.
Residents of Bethany, Milford, West Haven, or Woodbridge may file at either the New Haven or Ansonia-Milford courthouse.
