KELLY ASKEW

After graduating with honors from Drury University with an Associates in Paralegal Studies, Kelly began working in family law; gaining extensive knowledge in mediation, divorce and custody matters, as well as matters involving parental rights and more. When the firm she was working at closed its doors unexpectedly, Kelly once again found herself at a crossroads. A sought-after professional in her area, Kelly received offers from several local firms, but wanted to make sure her next move aligned with her values, her clients, and herself. When she came across a listing for a virtual paralegal role at a Family Law firm in Hartford, CT, she had a good feeling it was the right match for her (and we’re glad she did!). Kelly’s eight years of Family Law paralegal work, in addition to her top-notch client service standards, made her a quick fit with Freed Marcroft.

Despite not sharing a physical office, the connection Kelly felt with her Freed Marcroft colleagues was strong and instant. She loves working with a team of people who share the same values and passion for providing superior care and support to their clients as she holds herself so highly to. Kelly loves Family Law, loves being a paralegal, and takes pride in helping her clients feel like they have someone walking side-by-side with them while navigating difficult terrain. She’s been in their shoes, and she knows that it feels better with support by your side. Kelly’s colleagues appreciate her team spirit, commitment to “playing all in”, her trustworthiness, and her professionalism.

Kelly lives with her husband Darin, their son Parker, and their two big dogs, Stanley and Molly. She loves to travel (but hates to fly) and has never seen the ocean in person. She loves going to the park, watching documentaries, reading, seeing live comedy, and spending time around a campfire with friends.
