The Bridgeport Judicial District was named the Fairfield Judicial District Courthouse prior to January 1, 2024. Although the courthouse was in Bridgeport, it previously retained the name "Fairfield" from its Fairfield County roots. Connecticut made the change to reduce confusion, given that the courthouse is located in Bridgeport. For a long time, divorce attorneys had already referred to it interchangeably as the "Bridgeport Family Court" or the "Fairfield Family Court."Who Can File in Bridgeport Family Court?
