Daniel Morton
Daniel Morton is a family law attorney based in Hartford, Connecticut. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in History, cum laude, from the University of New Haven, where he was also inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta historical honor society. Daniel went on to attend Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, where he explored various areas of practice but found a lasting passion for family law. A Connecticut native, Daniel’s roots have always been firmly tied to the state, and he is proud to continue his career serving families here.
Daniel is licensed to practice in Connecticut, Texas, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. He began his legal career with Connecticut Legal Services before relocating to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where he practiced family law exclusively for five years. Throughout his career, Daniel has represented a broad range of clients — from those with limited means, to professional athletes, to individuals involved in complex, high-value marital estates. He has handled family law cases ranging from child support to international child abduction matters under the Hague Convention. In recognition of his work, Daniel was named a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine in 2021.
Daniel chose to join Freed Marcroft because of the firm’s reputation for zealous representation, the systems in place to keep cases moving efficiently, and the vault of knowledge and experience available to its attorneys and clients. Freed Marcroft’s core values resonated with Daniel’s personal approach to life and law.
Outside of his practice, Daniel enjoys fly fishing, traveling, working out, and playing golf. Having both litigated numerous family cases and personally experienced the challenges of family law firsthand, Daniel understands the critical importance of having a strong, dedicated advocate during times of family crisis.
