Carrie Smith – Paralegal

Carrie Smith is a DIY maven, tackling anything from interior remodeling projects to designing and sewing fashionable frocks.
What’s more, Carrie has been architecting her own life – creating and reinventing her outcomes one step at a time.
Never one to back down from a challenge, Carrie loves a DIY adventure. She “did her own” office and living room remodel, she is a handy woman, a great homemaker, and she can sew an entire outfit!
Carrie has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and an associate’s degree in Law Enforcement. She began her paralegal studies in Florida, but as it so often does, life’s plan presented a twist, and she took a long break from studying. Carrie is proud to report, one of her greatest achievements was finishing her studies while working full time and raising her daughter. Carrie is grateful to be where she wants to be professionally, and that she did it on her own time, under her own terms.
Carrie is passionate about the justice system. She believes it is her duty to help provide a voice for the voiceless, and to always help others, which is why she is so drawn to working on cases involving children. She brings to the firm tremendous experience working in family law, business law, and estate planning. Carrie is excited to join the team at Freed Marcroft, as she can pour her efforts and focus into family law; she feels fulfilled by the ability to create close connections with her colleagues and clients, and she feels humbled just knowing she is making a difference for folks. Carrie loves that this is all made possible, not only by her individual contributions, but by the collaborative efforts of the entire team, working together towards a common goal for each client.
In her free time, Carrie volunteers with her local Humane Society in Missouri. Sharing her love of animals with her young daughter, the two enjoy spending time together, going to the aquarium, walking their dogs, riding bikes, and going to the movies.
“Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.” Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel Laureate in literature
