Michael Jack Paris
Michael makes the complex simple – and clients notice.
One longtime client says “Everything is done well, quickly” while another notes “I have never had to worry about a single thing.”
Michael believes that the practice of law isn’t just about statutes and cases – it’s about practical problem solving, empowering clients, and building a solid foundation for the next stage of life. It takes great inner strength to make the important decisions that lead clients to seek out a divorce attorney, and Michael wants to honor that strength by being a compassionate, engaged, and zealous advocate who will always do what’s in their client’s best interest.
Michael Jack Paris wants to do big things.
With nearly 15 years of experience in family law, Michael also brings a uniquely diverse career background that provides insights few attorneys can match. They were previously the Vice President of Human Resources and General Counsel for a nationwide organization, a litigator at one of Connecticut’s most well-regarded civil law firms, a Professor and program advisor at the University of New Haven’s Legal Studies program, and a mediator for the State of Connecticut Department of Education’s Bureau of Special Education. Michael is also a trained divorce mediator and collaborative divorce attorney, bringing multiple approaches to resolving family law matters.
This broad experience shows in how clients describe working with Michael. As one shared, “Mike took the time to listen, understand and give realistic advice in a very emotional situation.” Another noted that Michael is “meticulous and knows his stuff” – exactly what you want when facing complex family law challenges. Clients praise Michael’s ability to make difficult situations manageable, with one saying “He made this case so easy for me” and another emphasizing that Michael is “someone who will fight for you.”
Michael is also a regular presenter at continuing education events for attorneys, including teaching courses like “Family Law From A to Z” for the National Business Institute (NBI), and lecturing and writing on topics such as “Civil Trial: All You Need to Know,” and “Top 7 Evidence Mistakes to Avoid.”
Michael earned a Juris Doctor and Certificate in Public Policy from the University of Connecticut School of Law. In law school, they were on the Moot Court Board and were named the “Best Oralist” in the Alva P. Loiselle Moot Court Competition. They also graduated from the University of New Haven with bachelor’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and in Legal Studies.
Outside of the office, Michael is an actor and is active in several non-profit organizations. They love cats (both the animal and the musical) and are a die-hard Broadway fan.
