Kristen Marcroft will be a panelist in a symposium the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section is presenting tomorrow, November 22 in conjunction with the University of Connecticut School of Law’s Lambda Law Society.

Attendees of Supreme Change: The Legal Landscape After Windsor will learn about the legal strategy that ultimately led the United States Supreme Court to reject as unconstitutional the federal definitions of “marriage” and “spouse” contained in Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act; discuss Connecticut’s role in advancing LGBT civil rights; and find out what’s next in the LGBT civil rights movement across the nation.

Kristen’s panel is entitled The New Normal: What Practitioners Need to Know About Windsor and will address the practical implications of the Windsor decision on practice areas including immigration, family law, tax issues, and estate planning. Her co-panelists include Victoria T. Ferrara of Ferrara Hayden PC, Leslie I. Jennings-Lax of Lax & Truax, LLC, and John J. Palmeri.

The panel will be moderated by Meghan Freed.

The symposium begins at 8:30 AM on Friday, November 22 at William F. Starr Hall at the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford. Admission is complimentary and Connecticut Bar Association members can register online or by calling the CBA at (860) 223-4400. Non-CBA members can register via phone.
